What is it?
For a simple understanding, we will use 3 different
situations involving a process of Automation for the sales
force:
1. The sales rep is in front of the customer
with his application off-line and would really like to confirm
the stock. To do this, he must put into effect a synchronism
of his application and, after the conclusion, will be able
to examine the data of the stock.
2. The sales rep is in front of the customer with his application
on-line and is able to carry out the analysis of the stock
in real time. However, they decide to go into another room
and suddenly, there is no longer an available connection!
3. The sales rep is in front of the customer with his application
on-line and is able to carry out the analysis of the stock
in real time. When they move to another room the connection
is cut off! However, the application continues working perfectly
well disconnected. He places the order and when he leaves
the room, the connection is re-established and the order is
sent automatically.
Examples (1) and (2) are common! Example
(3) describes how an application that uses the OCC model behaves
in real situations!
Currently we are at the moment of transition between disconnected
applications (off-line) and connected applications (on-line).
The model described as OCC provides applications that work
both off-line and on-line!
Below, are described the evaluation criteria of the OCC model:
Satisfactory
(conventional) |
Good |
Excellent |
Continue working while you are offline.
Mechanism of synchronization
|
No worries as to the connection.
Manual / automatic process of connection with a quick
exchange of information.
|
No worries as to the connection nor the exchange of
information.

MC1 Solutions
In its platform MC1 makes it possible for
the applications to work both in the disconnected mode (off-line)
and in the connected mode (on-line), that is, like in the
criterion classified as Excellent in the OCC model.
This is a great advantage when we speak of users who are spread
over several locations with variations in the availability
of wireless connections. With the same application the users
can work according to this availability.
If you want to know more about this and other advantages of
MC1 solutions, consult the item Technology and schedule a
visit with us!
In the last few years several jargons have appeared to describe
new models of relationships between companies and manners
of doing business: e-Commerce, B to B, e-Market Place among
others. It is not necessary to know these jargons to take
advantage of these business and technology models. However,
they help us to understand new market directions and how our
organizations can take advantage of them.
